MMA Legend Dan Henderson On Headlining Saturday's UFC Card

By Richard Hunter | @RichardHunter

NEW ORLEANS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Dan Henderson is the oldest fighter in The UFC, and he's a first ballot lock for the organization's hall of fame when he retires.

He knows that's his future, but he's not quite done with his present, and today that means focusing on his main event fight with Tim Boetsch. Saturday night Henderson will make his second appearance at middleweight since dropping down from 205 pounds and losing to #6 ranked Gegard Mousasi via first round TKO. While Henderson is not currently mentioned in the top 15 of either division, a win over #13 Boetsch would surely see his name return to the division's rankings.

With his name regularly included in the proverbial "greatest of all time" conversation, Dan Henderson has nothing left to prove in the sport of mixed martial arts. He fights because he loves competing, and UFC fans are hoping that Saturday night they will once again be treated to the kind of heroic performance from "Hendo" that has made him one of the biggest stars in the history of the sport.

UFC Fight Night airs live from New Orleans on FOX Sports 1 (Saturday, 9:00 pm CT).
