BALTIMORE (AP) - Major League Baseball and Chevrolet have signed a multiyear deal that extends a partnership that began in 2005.

The sponsorship agreement, announced Thursday, enables Chevrolet to continue its role as the official vehicle of Major League Baseball. Chevrolet also becomes the official automotive sponsor of MLB and USA Baseball's Play Ball initiative.

Noah Garden, MLB's executive vice president of business, says, "This renewal displays an ever-increasing commitment to our partnership and to youth baseball players all over the country."

The car company will continue to present the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award.

Participating youth baseball leagues receive equipment, sponsorship checks and fundraising opportunities from Chevrolet. In the last 10 years, Chevy Youth Baseball has donated more than 90,000 equipment kits and renovated 9,400 parks.
