MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - The City of Mesquite announced its support Tuesday of the Greenlight a Vet campaign to establish visible, national support for military veterans by changing one light to green.

The two light towers in front of Mesquite City Hall were changed to green Monday night and will remain green through Sunday.

Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11.

So far, more than 1.5 million people have registered their support of the campaign here.

The campaign encourages the public to change one light to green in a visible location on a front porch, at a home or at an office as a symbol of appreciation and support for military veterans.

Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being.
