ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Director Dr. Robert McMichael, who lives with limb girdle muscular dystrophy, participated in a muscular dystrophy fundraising walk at Globe Life Park on Saturday morning.

McMichael, a neurologist, leads more than 300 physicians at Methodist Mansfield, according to Angel Biasatti, a spokesperson for the medical center who emailed CBS11. The Muscular Dystrophy Association organized the Muscle Walk at Globe Life Park in which McMichael participated to raise money "that will make a real difference in the lives of people fighting life-threatening muscle disease," according to its website.

McMichael's clinic is one of the few in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that provides assistance "for those with MDA" in Tarrant County, Biasatti said.

In addition to being a neurologist, McMichael has a law degree, Biasatti said.
