No Students Seriously Hurt After McKinney School Bus Crashes Into Ditch

McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - A school bus crashed in McKinney early Tuesday morning. Reports stated that the incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. along the southbound service road of Highway 75 near North Park Road. Police and ambulances quickly arrived at the scene.

The McKinney Independent School District bus was carrying young students heading to Lawson Early Childhood School.

Police explained that the driver of the school bus suffered a medical emergency that caused them to lose control of the vehicle. The bus came to a stop along the side of the road, in a ditch near a wooded area just north of the intersection of Highway 75 and Virgnia Road.

Of the eight elementary school students on the bus, six of them were transported to a nearby hospital as a precaution. None of their injuries were thought to be serious. The students have already been released back to school. The driver was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
