McKINNEY (CBSDFW) - Voters in McKinney ISD are approving a $220 million bond package with 63 percent support Saturday.

The bond package includes $62 million for a new football stadium with an event center attached to it.

That's $2 million more than the stadium nearby Allen taxpayers voted for ten years ago which currently is the nations most expensive.

This one will have 6,000 fewer seats but the school district insists it can be built without a tax increase.

Opponents wanted the current stadium Ron Poe built in the 60s renovated while supporters say its outdated.

Some residents are also worried about stadium lights being too bright and people parking on their street.
