FORT WORTH (CBSDFW) - Ed Russell McIver Jr., out on bail on a charge of attempting to kill a Fort Worth policeman, is back behind bars after law enforcement officials say drugs were found at his home.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler told CBS 11 News that methamphetamine was discovered when bond enforcement officers, accompanied by narcotic officers, paid McIver a visit at his Weatherford home to see if he was living up to the requirements of being free on bail.

McIver, accused of attempted capital murder in the shooting last March of Fort Worth Police Officer Matt Pearce, was returned to the Parker County Jail and then transferred to the Tarrant County Jail, Fowler said.

Pearce continues to recover from his injuries from a shoot-out that left McIver's father, Ed McIver Sr., dead.
