Mavs Sign Free Agent Forward Charlie Villanueva

DALLAS, Texas (105.3 THE FAN) - The Mavs announced Tuesday the signing of free agent forward Charlie Villanueva, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 30-year old  Villanueva (6' 11", 232 lbs) has spent the last five season with the Detroit Pistons.

Villanueva appeared in 20 games with Detroit last season, where he averaged 4.6 points and 1.7 points per game.

He averaged 5.1 rebounds and 11.5 points on 44 percent shooting over his 9-year career with Detroit, Milwaukee, and Toronto.

Villanueva was the 7th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft from the University of Connecticut.
