Man Who Survived Motorcycle Crash Killed By Passing SUV

DESOTO (CBSDFW.COM) - A man riding a motorcycle survived a crash early Friday morning only to be killed moments later when, while trying to make his way off the freeway, he was struck by an SUV.

According to DeSoto police, the incident happened on Interstate-35, near Parkerville Road, just before 1 a.m.

Investigators said the man was riding with a group of other motorcyclists when he lost control and flew off his bike. He was trying to move out of the traffic lanes when he was struck and killed.

The driver of the SUV stayed on the scene and is not being charged at this point, officers said.

The name of the victim has not been released.

The southbound lanes of I-35 were shut down for hours while police investigated.
