ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — A man was shot outside of AT&T Stadium Sunday evening.

On a day when thousands descended into Arlington for Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers games, a man was shot in Lot 10 at the intersection of North Collins Street and East Randol Mill Road around 8:20 p.m., Arlington Police say. Event officers were responding to a call about a fight when they heard a single gun shot. The officers found the man in serious condition.

The man was taken to Medical Center Arlington and then flown to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

The alleged shooter was taken into custody and to a hospital with minor injuries police believe he suffered while fleeing.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor, and there were plenty of witnesses.

The investigation is ongoing.
