Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Producing Child Pornography

LUBBOCK (CBSDFW.COM) - Jeffrey William McCall, 42, was sentenced this morning to 200 months in federal prison, following his guilty plea in June 2015 to one count of production of child pornography.
According to documents filed in the case, on April 7, 2015, McCall recorded a video of a minor female child by hiding his cellular telephone in the bathroom and turning on the video camera when the child went into the bathroom to take a shower. McCall carefully positioned and aimed the lens of the camera with the intent of obtaining images of the child.
The matter was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative, which was launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Led by U.S. Attorney's Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals, who sexually exploit children, and identify and rescue victims.
The FBI and the Lubbock Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven M. Sucsy prosecuted the case.
