Man Running Next To Train In Haltom City Struck, Killed

North Texas Talk Radio Host Michael 'Doc' Thompson Identified As Man Struck By Train

HALTOM CITY, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - An Amtrak train traveling through Haltom City hit and killed a man in his 40s around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

It happened near the Richland Hills Station in the 2000 block of Carson Road.

Authorities tell CBS 11, the man who was struck had been running along side the train.

Haltom City Police said in a news release Tuesday night, "It was unknown if the victim was wearing earbuds or headphones at the time of the collision, but a pair of wireless earbuds was located at the scene."

No one on the train was hurt. 

The victim has not yet been identified.

The track is the same one used by TRE and those trains were delayed for about an hour Tuesday evening.
