Fort Worth police officers were called to the 2900 block of Crockett Street around 10:15 p.m. for a shooting, where they found Bryson Rodgers with a gunshot wound. The suspect in the shooting fled before officers arrived. Rodgers was taken to a hospital for treatment but did not survive.

FWPD said Monday that the altercation stemmed from a prior dispute and they have obtained a warrant for the suspect, who has not been identified yet.

Residents who live in the West 7th entertainment district of Fort Worth are becoming increasingly concerned for their safety after another deadly shooting.

"Hearing there's shootings... It makes us worry if it's even safe to walk around our neighborhood" said West 7th resident Zada Trejo. "We actually came home and we saw all the cop cars on the street and we were worried, like what happened. We could've been walking and who knows."

TCU student Wes Smith was shot and killed in the same area in Sept.

In response, the city implemented new safety and security improvements in West 7th, like more lighting and more off-duty police officers. The city council also adopted new zoning changes to require conditional use permits for new or expanding bars larger than 2,000 square feet.

"I think lately we've just been hearing a lot of stuff happening around, so we feel a little unsafe, a little uncomfortable, scared," Trejo said.

In Jan., the city announced another plan to boost safety in the entertainment district with a program where ambassadors would patrol the neighborhood late at night providing assistance and flagging police if they notice anything concerning.

"It keeps on happening," said Trejo. "So I guess there needs to be something like a change."

Changes can't come soon enough for the Trejo family. They're already considering moving out of the area.

"We're actually thinking about possibly leaving after all these incidents happening," Trejo said. "It is scary."

We reached out to the City of Fort Worth to find out when the ambassador program in West 7th could begin. We have not heard back yet.

The investigation into Saturday's deadly shooting is ongoing and homicide detectives said they are pursuing several leads. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Worth Police non-emergency line at 817-392-4222 or Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.

This is a developing story.
