Man Charged With Murder After Irving Woman Found Dead

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) – Police officers responding to a welfare check in the 1000 block of Lake Carolyn Parkway found a 25-year-old woman dead.

Brenca Onay McBride sustained a single, fatal gunshot wound.

McBride's boyfriend, Shane Anthony Nelson was arrested in connection to her death. Investigators said he left their apartment following an argument with McBride.

Nelson called police and turned himself in as they were trying to locate him.

He was taken into custody without incident late Sunday evening. Nelson is currently in the Irving City Jail on a charge of Murder. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
