PANTEGO (CBSDFW.COM) - A Pantego man charged with leaving his 10-month-old daughter in his car for 30 minutes as he went into work at a gym last week, turned himself in and posted a $2,000 bond on Monday.

Jonathon Ballard, 25, is charged with Abandoning or Endangering a Child through Criminal Negligence.

According to police, it was just before the lunch hour on August 10 when there was a report of a child left inside a vehicle. By the time police arrived the little girl's mother was there who along with Ballard had taken the baby girl out of the vehicle and inside the gym.

Emergency medical service workers found that the girl was no longer in distress. The baby was red-faced and her core temperature was up slightly, so paramedics took her to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth as a precaution.

The child was released from the hospital the same day and is doing fine.
