Suspect Arrested For Landlord's Murder In Pelican Bay

PELICAN BAY (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Pelican Bay have charged a 27-year-old man with murdering his 74-year-old landlord.
Police say it happened Monday, April 19 around 9:45 a.m.
Officers responded to a disturbance involving a man they say "clearly appeared to be under the influence of an illegal substance" in the 1500 block of Lark Court.
While on the scene officers were told about a nearby trailer on fire and firefighters responded.
The victim, found inside the trailer, has yet to be named pending official identification and notification of loved ones.
Police say Jonathan Scifres, the victim's tenant, has a lengthy criminal history.
Offivers arrested him at the scene and charged Scifres with murder. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
