DALLAS (AP) - A bronze marker is set to be installed near the spot at Dallas Love Field where Lyndon B. Johnson took the oath of office to become president after the assassination of John F. Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963.

The City of Dallas says the marker will be installed Thursday morning where Air Force One was parked on the tarmac when Johnson was sworn in aboard the plane. There will also be a duplicate of the marker placed by a window at the airport that looks out onto the spot.

A city spokesman says the marker on the tarmac won't be at the exact spot because it's an air operations area and they don't want the marker damaged. Eventually a light will be installed to mark the exact spot.
