DALLAS (CBSDFW) - A young boy was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after being bitten by a dog while playing outside his home near Fair Park, officials said.

Neighbors told us the victim was bitten repeatedly on the legs.

Dallas Animal Services said late Wednesday it now has the dog responsible in custody and issued a citation to the dog's owner.

Neighbors told us they are frustrated by the loose dogs in their community.

"It's terrible. It's bad," said neighbor Patricia Nash. "We got too many kids walking up and down here, and I'm scared for them."

Nash said Dallas Animal Services left her a note on her fence a while back asking her to take care of her dogs. She says she doesn't have any.
