Komen Race Paints Plano Pink

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) — Thousands packed the streets of Plano Saturday morning for the annual Komen Race for the Cure.

Komen headquarters is based in Dallas. The race is one of the nation's largest events for the breast cancer research group.

It's named after Susan Goodman Komen, who died of breast cancer in 1980. Her sister, Nancy Brinker, started the organization.
