K-9 Officer 'Rex' Recovering After Breaking Leg During Training Exercise

MIDLAND, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - A K-9 officer in the West Texas town of Midland is recovering after breaking his leg during a training exercise.

K-9 Rex's leg is in a cast, but he's expected to make a full recovery.

Fellow officers said they're "praying for a speedy recovery so he can get back to doing what he loves... protecting Midland and stopping bad guys!"

Midland is about five hours away from Dallas.
