MIDLAND (AP) - A ruling is expected from a Midland judge on whether to dismiss a lawsuit arising from the crash of a freight train and a veterans' parade float that killed four vets.

State District Judge James Rush said Friday that attorneys for the Union Pacific Railroad had moved for summary judgment. He said attorneys for the 17 plaintiffs were expected to file a response Monday.

Rush told The Associated Press he'll "rule accordingly after I receive and review everything."

The 2012 crash killed four veterans and injured about a dozen. Twenty-six people reached a confidential settlement this month with Union Pacific.
