Joseph Hutcheson's Death Being Ruled A Homicide

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - According to the Dallas County Medical Examiner, Joseph Hutcheson's death is being ruled a homicide.
The medical examiner stated that Hutcheson died of the "combined toxic effects of cocaine and methamphetamine, combined by hypertensive cardiovascular disease and physiological stress associated with struggle and restraint."
Surveillance video released last week showed the 48-year-old Arlington man in the lobby of a Dallas County jail on August 1. He had been exhibit erratic behavior before being placed in handcuffs. He then lost consciousness. Deputies said that they put Hutcheson in restraints because he posted a threat to himself.
Hutcheson's family has scheduled a press conference at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Dallas County's Lew Sterrett Justice Center to respond to the release of the video, and the medical examiner's report.
