FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - NAS Fort Worth JRB is scheduled to conduct an active-shooter exercise Tuesday morning.

The exercise is designed to enhance the training and readiness of Navy security forces to respond to real-world threats to the installation and its tenant commands.

The JRB says this exercise is not in response to any specific threat, but is a regularly scheduled training exercise.

The training area will be located away from any occupied buildings or main travel routes. Passersby may notice  emergency response vehicles or hear warnings from the installation's outdoor warning and notification system, preceded and followed by "exercise, exercise, exercise."

There will be an estimated 10-minute delay to both inbound and outbound lanes on board the installation once the exercise commences. The event will be conducted during off-peak hours to alleviate traffic congestion.

NAS Fort Worth JRB is committed to keeping the public informed about any likely impacts this exercise may cause.
