J.J. Barea Named Western Conference Player Of The Week

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Mavericks point guard J.J. Barea has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 28th through Sunday, April 3rd, the NBA announced today.

This is the first time Barea has been given the honor, and the first time a Maverick has won the award since Monta Ellis won it in April of 2014.

Barea led Dallas to a 4-0 record over the last week while starting guard Deron Williams has been nursing a sports hernia injury.

Barea averaged 23.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.
