DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - About 200 people marched through downtown Dallas tonight to express their opposition to president-elect Donald Trump.

"I stand with my brothers in the Mexican community. I stand with my brothers in the Muslim community and the queer community and I won't let him create a mockery of minorities," one protester said.

Organized by Next Generation Action Network, the march was peaceful and there was a strong police presence.

A spokesperson for Wednesday's rally said it was a way to show they weren't happy with the way the election turned out in favor of Trump.

"I also don't support a lot of the sentiment that's being thrown around… the hate. Donald Trump isn't the president I elected but he is the president that we are stuck with so we need to stand together and unite and work together," said Taylor Eubanks.
