DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Marching through downtown Dallas, hundreds of protestors denounced Donald Trump.
"Today we march, tomorrow we vote," said Maribel Espinoza.
The community organizer calls herself a proud daughter of immigrants and finds Trump's comments on Mexicans insulting.
"Everything out of his mouth is usually very offensive. He says that people are criminals and rapists. And that's not true. We are not criminals. Our only crime is to be here and work hard," said Espinoza.
Protestors mocked the billionaire with giant pinatas that looked like him.
They carried US flags in a display of patriotism - a reminder they, too, are Americans.
"The people who pick our crops, who clean the toilets in the hotels, who build these skyscrapers – they're going to pick the next president of the United States and it's not going to be Donald Trump," local LULAC president Domingo Garcia told the crowd.
Leo Saenz says Trump's popularity among Republicans has been disappointing.
"I'm saddened because there's so many people that are actually on his side and who think it's actually a good thing to be racist," he said.
The protestors briefly crossed paths with trump's supporters, but passed peacefully.
Organizers say their goal is to promote unity and respect.
"Love thy neighbor as thyself and the world would be a much better place," said Saenz.
Dallas police confirm there were no incidents and no arrests, during the protest.
