Houston Teacher Accused Of Inappropriate Student Relationship

KATY (AP) — A high school science teacher in the Houston area has been arrested on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, a teacher at Katy High School was arrested Saturday at his residence. Authorities say the man was arrested after the mother of a 17-year-old Katy High School student contacted the police Friday night and requested a deputy come to her house to discuss an inappropriate relationship between her daughter and a teacher.

The teacher was contacted and willingly met with authorities.

Houston media outlets report he remains in custody at Fort Bend County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
