DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Homeless people are being rousted this morning from a makeshift camp near Fair Park.

The homeless camp under I-30, at Haskell is packed with dozens of people, after the city of Dallas hut down other homeless camps.

The space they are currently living in is supposed to be available for shuttle bus parking for the State Fair of Texas. And many of the people are being moved to make room for the buses that are expected to bring in large crowds for the Red River Rivalry weekend.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings appointed more than 40-people to a special Commission on Homelessness more than six months ago.

A man identified as Andrew, who lives in the Haskell camp, says nothing has changed for those living on the streets.

"I haven't heard of it (Commission on Homelessness)" said Andrew. "It (aid) is not being distributed out to the people it's affecting."

Several people who live in the camp say they'll simply move into a nearby woods -- because the city's homeless shelters are full.
