Home To Exotic Animals Needs Help After Tornado

WISE COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Severe storms in Wise County hit a wild animal shelter hard Tuesday night.

Bridgeport's Center for Animal Research and Education -- or "CARE" -- is home to exotic animals in need – everything from llamas to large cats, like leopards and mountain lions.

Luckily, all the animals are safe and accounted for, but winds left the facility in disarray. Trees were blown into buildings and enclosures, debris litters the compound, and the power is out.

CARE is in need of volunteers and an electrician to repair the power supply to the freezer where fresh meat to feed the big cats has been destroyed.

If you would like to help, visit CARE's Facebook page.
