Hollywood Movie Filming Means Closed & Blocked Downtown Dallas Roads

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - For actors, producers, directors and other movie employees, downtown Dallas is being turned into a Hollywood movie set for the filming of "11/22/63". For North Texas drivers, the city center is more of a parking lot!
Filming of 11/22/63 is underway. Crews will be busy working on the Warner Brothers television mini-series until Thursday. The show, based on a bestselling novel by Stephen King, tells the story of a man who goes back in time to try and stop the President John F. Kennedy assassination.
There will be no spoiler here as to whether or not the movie character actually accomplishes his task, but while the assassination may or may not be stopped… filming certainly brought traffic in downtown Dallas to a halt.
Much of the filming is and will be done in and near Dealey Plaza, so that means portions of Elm, Main, South and North Houston and Austin Streets will be shut down between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Warner Brothers has warned downtown residents that production will use live blanks Thursday in case they hear what sounds like gunshots.
During lunchtime, the view from Chopper 11 showed backup after backup, as drivers tried to navigate around the blocked streets.
During rush hour, Dallas police will funnel downtown traffic to Lamar Street. Officials say pedestrian traffic will not be affected.
