FLOWER MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) - While the damage was not widespread, the storm that rolled through the Metroplex on Tuesday night provided quite the scare for residents in one Flower Mound neighborhood.

Strong wind gusts snapped a 30-foot tall maple tree in half. A large portion of the tree fell onto the home, damaged the roof, deck and siding.

Residents inside the home said they felt the wind pick up and then heard what sounded like thunder. They said there was a rumble and then the house shook.

When they walked outside, they found tree limbs sticking through windows and branches covering the deck.

The daughter of the homeowner said her mother is normally out on the deck during the time the storm swept through the area.

"I'm glad that she wasn't out there because God knows what would have happened had she been out there and something would have happened. I didn't know what it was at first, I wouldn't have gone out to look," said Jackie Moake.

No other homes in the neighborhood appeared to have sustained any severe damage.
