Heat Lingers

We'll continue to watch for thunderstorm development across our southeast counties from Corsicana over to Canton:

Today will turn out to be just a little warmer than yesterday. Here are the temperatures at 3pm. A nice breeze from the south has picked up this afternoon:

This evening should be nice once we get the sun below horizon:

We don't include rain chances for the Labor Day action tomorrow, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the day. If outside make sure not to over-do the sun exposure. It'll likely be the hottest day since last Monday and probably the hottest day in the week ahead:

Today is the last day of meteorological summer and the heat hasn't been so bad. We end up with the coolest summer since 2007. We've been in a drought for the last four years in this area but this summer actually recorded a slight surplus of rain thanks to a very wet August. Normal is 7.77" for the season and we had 8.58"
