Haslet Grass Fire Spreads To Fireworks Stand

HASLET (CBSDFW.COM) - Emergency crews in Haslet responded to a grass fire on Wednesday afternoon that spread to a fireworks company. The incident happened shortly before 1:00 p.m. in the 13000 block of Highway 287 near Family Drive.
Heavy black smoke was billowing into the air when authorities arrived at the acre-large fire.

Early reports stated that some fireworks inside of the Alamo Fireworks location were exploding. The flames burned a number of structures bearing the company's logo, including several storage trailers and smaller roadside stands.
Firefighters from Haslet, Newark, Saginaw, Blue Mound, Rhome and Eagle Mountain were all called to the scene. Crews were ordered to use extra caution when getting close to the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Officials are urging people to stay away from this area until the situation is under control.
