UNIVERSITY PARK (CBSDFW.COM) – The man whose family founded Goff's Burgers 65 years ago, Harvey Gough watched today as the last of the chain was destroyed by fire.

Gough was slinging burgers at his new restaurant when he heard the news.

The 77-year-old sold the name ten years ago but still hated to see the last remaining one go up in flames.

"I hate to see something bad happened to the guys I sold it to and to my name," said Gough, "I'm not gonna say I'm in love with them… but I do have some empathy for them."

He said he thinks today's fire was caused by a buildup of grease in the vents, which need frequent cleaning to operate safely.
