DALLAS  (CBSDFW.COM) -  While TXDOT and NTTA crews pre-treated the highways in anticipation of winter storm, many customers at the Home Depot in North Dallas on Saturday seemed less concerned about the icy forecast.

While the stacks of firewood and the display of faucet covers sat untouched for much of Saturday, the store's manager said the garden section was busy with customers.

"We sold more pansies than firewood today," said Home Depot manager Dona Crim.

However, Crime predicts that will all change on Sunday when the temperature takes a plunge.

"People like to wait until the last minute," she said. "They like to enjoy the warm weather. They'll panic tomorrow but we're definitely ready to deal with them tomorrow."

While some may wait, Doug Shupe with AAA Texas said its member tow truck operators are already prepared for the worst.

On Saturday several of the drivers with Armada Towing Service in Arlington loaded their trucks with chains for their tires and extra bags of salt.

"We'll be ready," Shupe said. "We hope that everyone else will be ready.  We hope that everyone will just be cautious."

TXDOT is scheduled to review its storm plan Sunday at 2:00 pm.
