H-E-B Mobile Kitchen Heading To Ellis County

ELLIS COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - In the wake of the tornado that struck Ellis County Saturday evening, H-E-B is deploying the H-E-B Mobile Kitchen to Midlothian to provide hot meals for families affected by the tornado, first responders and volunteers in the area.

According to an H-E-B news release, beginning Tuesday, the Mobile Kitchen will serve breakfast and lunch throughout the week as needed. The Mobile Kitchen will be stationed at Longbranch Elementary School and is expected to serve approximately 1,000 to 1,500 affected individuals.

Breakfast: 6:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Lunch: 12 NOON to 3:00 PM

In addition to serving hot meals, H-E-B volunteers are in the area assisting with clean-up relief.

The H-E-B mobile kitchen has the capability to prepare more than 6,400 meals per hour. It is paired with a 53' refrigerator trailer for the transportation of perishable food items and supplies and is designed specifically to respond to disaster emergency relief efforts.
