Gunman Blamed For Dallas Insurance Robberies Gets 35 Years

DALLAS (AP) - A gunman blamed for robbing some North Texas insurance businesses and their employees has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Michael Dewayne Cleveland was sentenced Wednesday in Dallas.
Cleveland last June pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with commerce by robbery and two counts of carrying or possessing a firearm during and in relation to a violent crime. His pleas involved two Dallas robberies in September 2013.
Dallas Police posted surveillance video of the robberies in an attempt to catch Cleveland.
Dallas police arrested Cleveland in October 2013 during a traffic stop when he failed to use a turn signal. Investigators say the SUV matched a vehicle captured in surveillance video from some of the insurance business holdups.
Police were investigating 13 robberies in Dallas and two in Irving in which a gunman escaped with cash and credit cards.
