FORT WORTH (CBS11) - People who live near a field off of Wilbarger in southeast Fort Worth where two bodies were discovered in the back of the burning SUV say they're worried. But they're not worried about the neighborhood they're worried about the fields which provide cover for criminal activity.

"I just seen a big old ball of fire, smoke coming up," said Belinda Robinson about the SUV fire. "I didn't do too much fire I think they put it out. But I seen a lot of smoke, it was black."

At first, Robinson thought kids or homeless people had started a fire in the big field near her home. Then she saw the medical examiner's car.

"And we was going well, it must be something more than just a darn fire!" She said.

Firefighters found two bodies in the back of the burning SUV. One has been identified as 34-year-old John David Hernandez, and records matching the name and birthday tie the man to Mission, Texas on the Mexico border.

"I'm thinking maybe they were brought here," Robinson speculated saying outsiders have become aware of the isolated fields.

Neighbors say the fields around them have become a criminal dumping ground. The burning body of a woman was found near here a month ago. And Robinson says she wouldn't be surprised if there are more shocking discoveries in the fields that haven't been uncovered.

"If they hadn't burned the bodies and the smoke brought attention to them or whatever, if they'd just dumped them down there it would've been a long time before they found them," Robinson said.
