Fort Worth Man Charged In Wreck That Killed Woman, 2 Sons

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Police say a North Texas man's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit for driving in a wrong-way crash that killed a woman and her two sons.

Alvarado police say 53-year-old Ricardo Martinez of Fort Worth was hurt in the weekend accident and remained hospitalized Tuesday.

Martinez has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of intoxication assault, with bond set at $250,000.

Investigators say Martinez was driving his truck the wrong way during Sunday's accident in Alvarado.

The wreck killed Maranda Abshire, 2-year-old Crus Dominguez and 5-year-old Christopher Dominguez. Another child in her vehicle was injured, but survived.

Medical records show Martinez had a blood alcohol level of 0.24 after the accident.

Police had no information on an attorney for him.
