Fort Worth Firefighter Indicted For Felony Assault

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A Tarrant County grand jury indicted Fort Worth firefighter Michael Benningfield for second degree felony assault.
The Fort Worth Fire Department says the indictment follows an investigation into Benningfield's involvement in a fight at the Whiskey & Rye bar in January.
Benningfield has been with the Fort Worth Fire Department since March 2012.
He has been on restrictive duty since the incident and effective immediately he will be temporarily suspended without pay pending the adjudication of the criminal allegations, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department.
