Fort Hood Identifies Soldier Found Dead Friday

FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood released the name of the soldier who was found unresponsive Friday, Aug. 19 in his barracks.

Circumstances surrounding the death of Spc. Dion Shannon Servant, 24, of Maywood, Illinois, are still under investigation.

Servant entered active-duty service in June 2014 as a petroleum supply specialist. He was assigned to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, since December 2014, according to a Fort Hood news release.

Servant's awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
