3 Injured, Including Firefighter, In 2-Alarm Apartment Fire In Dallas

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Three people, including a firefighter, were injured during an apartment fire in Dallas Wednesday morning, the department says.

Crews were battling the fire at the Meadows apartment complex near Ferguson Road and I-635.

Two of the apartment residents were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The firefighter was treated for non-life-threatening burn injuries.

Dallas police officers responded to the scene to help residents get safely away from the fire. The officers, along with two civilians, grabbed a mattress from a downstairs apartment and helped people jump out of a window to safety.

Dallas Fire-Rescue says six residents jumped from the third floor of the building. A baby also had to be thrown from the window and was caught below.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
