Rescue Crews Recover Missing Swimmer In Lake Waxahachie

WAXAHACHIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police and Fire and Rescue recovered the body of a swimmer at Lake Waxahachie Sunday morning according to officials.

According to witnesses, the swimmer went underwater Saturday evening and never resurfaced.

Rescue crews arrived at the scene and began their search using SONAR and dive teams.

Crews had to suspend their search Saturday night due to storms in the area.

They resumed their search at 6:00 a.m. Sunday and located the body of the swimmer just before 7:00 a.m.

Officials said the swimmer was an adult male and has not been identified yet.
