Body found after children rescued on Eagle Mountain Lake, authorities say

Body recovered at Eagle Mountain Lake on Sunday afternoon

Officials have recovered a body from Eagle Mountain Lake late Sunday afternoon, where authorities have been searching for a missing 50-year-old father since Saturday evening, according to the Tarrant Regional Water District.

TRWD said the man was out on the water with his two children on Saturday. Around 5 p.m., a boater on Eagle Mountain Lake rescued two children who were floating and screaming for help.

Authorities responded, secured the children, and began an investigation that determined they had been on the lake in a small watercraft with their father. TRWD said in a news release late Saturday that the father had not been located.

Friends of the victim later told CBS News Texas that a family member confirmed it was 50-year-old Jimmy Chaikong.
