DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A 5-year-old girl was killed when a man rear-ended her family's car on I-35 in Denton on Christmas Eve.

Moriah Modisette was pronounced dead after she was airlifted to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, but all of the other crash victims were taken to Denton Regional Medical Center.

The little girl was sitting in the seat behind her father, James Modisette, who was driving the family's Toyota Camry. Next to him was the girl's mother, Bethany Modisette. Moriah's 8-year-old sister was sitting next to her in the backseat when the fatal crash happened.

An ambulance brought all three family members to Denton Regional Medical Center where the driver of the Toyota 4-Runner that hit them was also taken. Police say that driver, Garrett Wilhelem from Gainesville was on his way to Keller to visit his parents. He may have been on his cell phone at the time of the crash.

Denton police said the crash is still under investigation, so until it's complete, they won't know whether criminal charges will be filed.
