Expert Breaks Down Best Days To Shop Online

DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - For many online shoppers- it's all about coupons and sometimes wild guesses.

When do they release online coupons? When do they mark down their products? And, when do stores add new items to the clearance?

Rather-Be- Shopping blogger Kyle James says he has it all figured out.

James says start of the week shopping for deals at the craft store, Michaels. Sales are hot there on Sundays.

"We get all of our coupons from them on Saturday, Sunday morning," says James.

On Monday, James says shop Barnes and Nobles website. He says the book store releases its coupons on Sunday night.

James says he's nailed down the days to shop online based on a database of information of coupons he's tracked for the last 12 years. He says he's found these patterns by studying that data.

On Tuesday, the Gap's website releases over 50% of its coupons according to James. He says the retailer often offers up to 40% discounts.

Wednesdays could be a great day to buy outdoor furniture, flooring or hardware. James says Home Depot sales typically start on the hump day and continue through the weekend.

But the best day to shop online is Thursday. James says most retailers come out with the best coupons on Thursday. They include stores American Eagle, Ann Taylor, Old Navy, Sports Authority, Macy's and Pet Smart.

Friday is the best day for Best Buy and Kohl's.

And, he says Saturday is a good for shopping at Target. "On Saturday morning you'll notice an influx of deals and new items in their clearance."
