DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The wait is over! The BRAVOS's Real Housewives series is coming to Dallas. The cast of the much anticipated show was released today, and CBS11's Brooke Rogers spoke with one of the cast members about the anticipation and the drama.
"All of a sudden, it's real. Finally, it's real," said Marie Reyes, whose husband Angel is a Dallas attorney.
The wait was excruciating, according to Reyes.
"Too many people saw us filming around town," she said. "Too many rumors have been flying about what we were filming. Just trying to keep the secret was a full-time job."
Reyes, who owns and operates a medical spa and laser clinic, is billed as a "friend" of the Housewives. The five headliners in the reality show are Cary Deuber, who works with her plastic surgeon husband; Tiffany Hendra, an actress, model and host; "girl next door" Stephanie Hollman; former pageant competitor LeeAnne Locken; and former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Brandi Redmond.
"It comes with a lot of big names, big attitudes and expectations," said Reyes of the cast's drama-filled expectations.
And she promises - the drama followed.
"Oh yes, we will not let anybody down. Every single person in the cast was in it to win it. And it's go big or go home."
But when it came to dishing dirt, "Let's just say, 'there's a lot of action.' I'll just say that."
Reyes said she invited the other women to a show viewing party at her home. The women are "more or less" still on speaking terms, according to Reyes. But after the super hyped show debuts April 11, all of that could change.
A change.org petition is circulating online asking to keep "Real Housewives" out of Dallas, but only 46 people have signed it.
Critics of the show have brought up concerns about a lack of diversity in the cast and possible embarrassment some of the Housewives with alleged, scandalous skeletons in their closets could bring to the city.
The television show though, is just that -- entertainment, and love it or hate it, it's here to stay for now... or until ratings don't rise to the occasion.
