Evacuation Order Issued For Denton Co Residents

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) – The Denton County Office of Emergency Management has issued an alert for nearly 300 people along Lake Ray Robert's Greenbelt Corridor who may need to evacuate within the next 12-24 hours.

"Our intent  is to have people be prepared... with an evacuation kit should this situation arise," said Denton County Department of Emergency Services Director Jody Gonzalez.

She said the residents are in harms way if the planned release from the Lake Ray Roberts Tuesday is joined by an expected 10-12 inches of rain expected with the next storm.

Officials want people to sign up to their early warning system.
