Smith, posted this statement on Twitter, announcing his decision:

"In light of Mr. Trump's statements and the subsequent decision made by NBC, I have decided not to participate as a judge in the 2015 Miss USA pageant.  Knowing firsthand, through my wife, Pat Smith how much the women prepare for this event, I continue to send my support and best wishes to everyone competing this year."

Earlier on Wednesday, Macy's announced it would end its business relationship with Donald Trump.  Following a similar announcement last week, by NBC and Univision, which had planned to air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.  The hosts for the Miss USA pageant, scheduled for July 12 and performers have also backed out.
