FOREST HILL (CBSDFW.COM) — An early morning crash left two people dead in Forest Hill on Sunday.

Forest Hill police officers responded to the accident, involving an SUV and a sedan, at the intersection of Hartman Road and Richard Street just after 3 a.m. Police arrested the driver of the SUV for suspicion of driving while intoxicated in connection with the accident, according to the department.

Two of the four people in the sedan were pronounced dead at the scene, police say. The other two — the driver and a passenger — were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

The SUV driver, who was the only one in the vehicle, was booked into the Forest Hill Police Department jail, the department says.

Police say the cause of the accident is unknown.

The investigation is ongoing.
